If we are lovers,
I will insist on being in
the driver’s seat, not because
I don’t trust you, but because
I don’t trust myself with you,
I’ll drag you around
the whole damn city
before admitting I’m lost,
or that I should have worn
the sweater I stubbornly refused,
but you’ll already know that,
I’ll be there to remind you
to take your daily multivitamin,
and somehow, I’ll always know
where you misplaced…
