I didn’t tell Heaven about you —
because if I told her how
I’ve memorized your face
in every waking dream
finding comfort in your eyes,
how the scent of your cologne
has become my security blanket,
how I could waste away the day
marveling at your lips,
she wouldn’t believe me.
